In the bowling, Hammad Azam, Ali Imran, and Harmeet Singh all got 2 wickets each. Ali Imran starred as he conceded just 11 runs in his 4 overs and got the big wickets of Ryan Scott and Mark Deyal.

Stallions now needed 133 runs to win and start off the tournament with a win. The openers led the charge with a 110 run opening partnership. After the fall of Gous on 62, Chand and Marshall made sure that the Stallions got over the line without the loss of another wicket.

Gous was awarded with the man of the match award for his 62(33). His innings consisted of 6 boundaries and 4 maximums.

22 Yards won the toss and decided to bowl first. DC Lions didn’t get off to a bad start, but a middle order collapse meant that they were only able to get to 114. They went from 64/2 to 85/8. They were only able to make 21 runs in the time that they lost 6 wickets. There was some fight back from Ghazi. He made 25(20) to give the Lions some chance in the 2nd innings.

Sherafane Rutheford starred with the ball. He took 4/11 (4). Asif also did well. He got 3/25 in his 4 overs.

The Lions picked up 2 wickets inside the first 2 overs and there was pressure starting to build on 22 Yards. But Chetty and Malek played well to get their side to 56. After that, there was a mini collapse, but Chetty and Thomas ended up getting 22 Yards over the line with more than 2 overs to spare.

Rutheford was given the Man of the Match for his 4 wickets. He really changed the game in the middle overs.

Asia United won the toss and decided to bowl first. Gowda got out early and then Griffith departed soon after. But then Sohal and Chanderpaul stitched together an important partnership to get Potomac to 97 in 12 overs. After Sohal got out, Dry and Ottley were the only ones who were able to do well, with Chanderpaul holding one end steadily. Potomac ended up making 169/9 from their 20 overs.

With the ball, Ehsan took 3/36 in his 4 overs. Zai bowled 3 overs and got 2/20. So now Asia United needed 170 to win from their 20 overs.

For Asia United, the top 3 all played really well. Taylor hit 42(26). Smit Patel remained not out on 64 off 49. Milind Kumar also hit a half century. He made 57(30).

Smit Patel was given the Man of the Match award for his 64. He batted through the innings to make sure that Asia United were able to get over the line.

DMV Youngbloods won the toss and decided to bowl first. SAMP Army got off to a bad start with Jaskaran Malhotra gone first ball. Chanderpual Hemraj played a cameo of 36(14) at the top of the order. After he got out, Shehan Jayasuriya departed without facing a delivery.

Monak Patel played really well as he hit 64 off 30 runs. He was eventually given the man of the match award as well. Elmore Hutchinson and Karima Gore did really well down the order as they managed to get 70 runs in the last 4 overs to get SAMP Army to 210/7.

The entire top and middle order for the DMV Youngbloods made 20s and 30s. None of them could really get going which is really something that you need when chasing such a big score. The Youngbloods were only able to make 156/5 in their 20 overs.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟓: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐯𝐬 𝐃𝐂 𝐋𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝟔𝟎 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐬

Stallions won the toss and decided to bat first. They made 187/5 in the first innings with Unmukt Chand hitting a 100 at the top of the order. He played really well and made history as he was the first player to hit a century in the National Capital T20 Tournament. The rest of the team batted pretty well around him.

With the ball, Junaid Nadir did well as he got 3/21 in 4 overs. He was the standout bowler.

The DC Lions didn’t do well at all with the bat. They were at one point 48/8. Then Mirwais and Nadir did show some fightback as they hit 30(19) and 46(17) respectively.

Shadley Van took 3/8 in just the 2 overs which he bowled. Harmeet Singh bowled all 4 overs and took 2/12.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟔: 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐏 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 𝐯𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭: 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝟐𝟔 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐬 (𝐃𝐋𝐒)

SAMP Army won the toss and decided to bowl first. The game was shortened to 16 overs each because it started a bit late.

Stephen Taylor cam out blazing for the Asia United as he hit 82 from just 40 balls. Besides Taylor, a few other players hit some quick fire 20s and 30s as they made 188/4 in their 16 overs.

SAMP Army needed 189 runs to win the game and get 2 more points, but they were unable to do so. Though they were scoring at a good rate from the start, they kept losing wickets and that really hurt them.

The game was decided on DLS Method with bad light interfering in the middle of the SAMP Army innings. Asia United were declared the winners by 26 runs.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟕: 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜 𝐯𝐬 𝐃𝐂 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭: 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝟐𝟖 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐬

Potomac won the toss and decided to bat first. This game was also shortened due to a late start.

Potomac started off well and throughout the entire innings, they batted at a good rate. They were consistently scoring at a rate of 10 or more runs an over. They eventually ended with 175 from their 16 overs with Griffith hitting 51(34) and a lot of the other players playing some cameos as well.

In the bowling, Batra did well to get 3/24 in his 3 overs. He picked up the important wickets of Griffith, Abdullah, and Dyer.

With the bat, the standout players for the Youngbloods were Ritwik, Ishan, and Sahil. All 3 of them hit 30s and 40s, but unfortunately for them, their side couldn’t make it over the line as they lost the game by 28 runs.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟖: 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐯𝐬 𝟐𝟐 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭: 𝟐𝟐 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝟒𝟏 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐬

22 Yards won the toss and decided to bat first. After just 9 runs in the first 2 overs, Walton and Lewis went out and took apart the Herndon bowling attack. They scored another 107 runs from the next 6 overs and only lost the single wicket. This attack included both a 24 and 35 run over respectively.

Javon Searles did well with the ball as he picked up 3/17 in his 4 overs and helped restrict 22 Yards to 192/8, a score they could have definitely exceeded with the start that they has gotten.

Herndon Bengals needed a great start if they were going to chase this target down, and they did not get one. They lost 3 wickets early and the only player who stood out with the bat was Christopher Van Tull. He hit 52 from 32 deliveries.

With the ball, Sherafane Rutheford grabbed a fifer as he took 5/22 in his 4 overs. Rutheford bowled really well today as he also got a 4 wicket haul in the first game. So he’s gotten 9 wickets in 2 games and is looking very dangerous with the ball.
